Oil Caps continue hot start to season

The great start to the season continued for the Virden Oil Capitals on Saturday night.

Graeme Hore and Kirklan Lycar each had two goals apiece as the Oil Caps came away with an 8-2 victory in Portage against the Terriers.

Jeran Knorr, Drayson Skulmoski, Justin Lee and Hunter Cloutier netted the other tallies for the Oil Capitals, who are now 6-1 this season.

Mackenzie Dwyer and Ty Barnstable replied for the Terriers, who dropped to 4-3 on the year.

Riley McVeigh stopped 36 of 38 shots to pick up the win in net for Virden.

The Oil Caps head home to face the Selkirk Steelers at Tundra Oil and Gas Place on Sunday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
