Oil Caps fall to Kings in OT

The Virden Oil Capitals let a late lead slip away on Friday night in Dauphin as the club lost 7-6 in overtime to the Kings in exhibition action.

Leading 6-5 late in the third, the Oil Capitals ended up taking a penalty and the Kings made Virden pay, tying the contest with less than a minute to go. Dauphin would later win the game in overtime.

Graeme Hore scored twice in the contest, while Hunter Cloutier, Keon Fox, Jeran Knorr and Drayson Skulmoski each had single tallies for the Oil Caps, who host the Kings on Saturday night in their last exhibition game.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Oil Capitals regular season opener is slated for next Friday, Sept. 22 as Virden hosts the Kings.
