Special ag-themed third jersey revealed!

The day has arrived!

It’s time to unveil our ag-themed third jerseys that will be worn by the team on Thursday for Ag Appreciation Night when they host the Steinbach Pistons!

“Energy and agriculture in southwestern Manitoba are two of the main staples as they’re intertwined,” said Jamie Hodson, director of business and hockey operations for the Oil Capitals. “This year’s jersey theme was being geared towards the ag sector. With our Crop Club being integral to our club’s finances, we really wanted to give thanks to our ag partners for all they’ve done since Day 1.”

The special third jerseys, which were created by local product Brooks Freeman, will be auctioned off during the game (silent auction) in the BASF Soil Zone. A portion of the proceeds will go to local 4-H clubs! Check out the photos below…

Hodson says the Oil Caps partners and farmers are a big part of the season ticket and nightly walk-up base.

“We really wanted to give back to the local ag sector and there’s really nothing better to represent that then the local 4H clubs in which some of the auction proceeds from the jerseys will go towards,” he added.

Once again, a big thank you to local product Brooks Freeman who created the jerseys!

There will also be a special pre-game ceremony as well as live entertainment before, during and after the game by local band Prairie Joe.

That night is also another “Thirsty Thursday” which means $3 for adult beverages! Meanwhile, Lake of the Woods Brewery, a game host earlier in the year, is also planning on making a return to Tundra Oil and Gas Place that night to sell their products. The bar will also stay open for one hour post game.
