The Virden Oil Capitals will be teaming up Virden Ford and Boston 
Pizza in conjunction with our players and our fans in SW Manitoba as we once again help raise proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society, in what has now become a yearly ritual: “Hockey Fights Cancer Month” in November.
Virden Ford will be our game host this coming Friday, the 23rd, as we face off in a rematch of last year’s league final vs the Steinbach Pistons. The Oil Capitals will be wearing commemorative “Hockey Fights Cancer” warmup jerseys and throughout the game “Hockey Fights Cancer Month” colours will be worn. The warm up jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction all game on the concourse up until the end of the game. Can’t be at the game and you wish to put a reserve bid in? We can help you with this as well; please send a reserve bid via email from now up until before game time this Friday at marketing@oilcapshockey.com The team will also have other “Hockey Fights Cancer Month” events and videos preceding and throughout the game commemorating the importance of the event.
All net proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
“The Boston Pizza; Caps Serve 4 Cancer”
“The Boston Pizza; Caps Serve 4 Cancer” On Thursday the 29th, several of your favorite Oil Capitals will be guest servers, take out attendees, bartender, and guest delivery drivers working with the Boston Pizza severs and drivers for the evening from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Boston Pizza has committed to donate 10% of all food and beverage sales during those hours to the Canadian Cancer Society that evening. The Oil Capitals and Boston Pizza will have other raffle draws for purchase that evening with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
50/50 Sale Proceeds to Canadian Cancer Society
When we play host to the Steinbach Pistons, on Friday, November23rd, the 50/50 Sale Proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society on behalf of the hockey club.
Director of Business and Hockey Operations, Jamie Hodson stated: “With so many individuals and families effected by cancer locally and across the globe, “Hockey Fights Cancer Month” is something that is near and dear to everyone. As an organization in conjunction with our great partners and fans, we are doing what we can do to help this cause and to raise more awareness. Our fans, partners, and anyone in our organization have been affected in some way, shape, or form with this disease; this is something that is near and dear to all our hearts and as an organization we want to do what we can do to help in any way possible. We have involved some of our great partners in Virden Ford and Boston Pizza in helping make “Hockey Fights Cancer Month” a success once again in our local community.
