FORWARD PROSPECT BRANDEN HUMINUK COMMITS TO THE OIL CAPS FOR THE 2020/2021 SEASON.

Oil Caps prospect Branden Huminuk has officially committed to the organization for the upcoming MJHL season.  Huminuk, who was acquired last summer from the Winnipeg Blues for forward Blake Jacques, spent the last 2 seasons with the Winnipeg Thrashers of the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League.  This past season saw Huminuk put up 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points while suiting up in all 48 games for the Thrashers. The 5’9’’, 145 lb Winnipeg native is a 200 foot player and has the ability to play in all situations.

GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey was excited that his club could land the high end prospect, “We are really happy that Branden has committed to our hockey club for the upcoming season.  Branden can do it all, he has real good skill, skates well and defends hard.  What stands out for us is his hockey sense.  He thinks the game at such a high level which allows him to play in any situation and with any players.  He will be a real valuable guy for us for the foreseeable future.  He is a very mature young man and comes from a great family.  Today is a great day for the Oil Caps!”

Huminuk was also very excited to join the Oil Caps organization, “It’s a huge honor to sign with the Virden Oil Capitals.  My family and I have heard nothing but great things about the town of Virden.  I’m very excited to meet the team and be a part of the Oil Capitals organization!”
