Schram Seals it in Overtime!

February 23

Virden, MB – Devan Schram picked a perfect time to score his 20th goal of the season. The marker came three minutes into overtime and sent the boisterous crowd of 973 into a frenzy.

The Caps picked up an all important win on a night that the Winnipeg Blues earned a point as well.

Virden opened the scoring in the first period as Tanner Lewis beat Emelim Boily. The OCN net minder made 36 saves in the loss.

The Caps would take a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd period as Drake Bodie found the back of the net just 40 seconds into the period.

The Blizzard quickly replied on the PP just a minute later as Daylon Campbell beat Sean Kuehn who kicked aside 18 shots on the night for his 27th win of the season.

OCN would tie it up late in the third on a goal by Jeremy Dumont to send the game to the extra frame.

Thats when Devan Schram took a feed from Zach Whitecloud following a great shift by Drake Bodie and buried the game winner for his 20th goal of the season.

With the win, the Caps move to 35-20-1 on the year which leaves them with 71 points. The Blues earning a single point keeps them on pace with 68 points. (The Caps do have a game in handy)

Next up for Virden is Friday night in Winkler, as they take on the Flyers in the first half of a home and home.
