WON ONE LOST ONE

Oct. 25th, Virden, MB – The Virden Oil Capitals played against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Tuesday, Oct. 25th at Tundra Oil & Gas Place where the Oil Caps won their 6th overtime game!

Trevor Hunt opened the scoring at 6:46 with assists from Chorney & D. Bielik.
With just 5 seconds left in the first Josh Lehto furthered the Oil Caps lead with his 8th goal of the season, assisted by D. Bielik & Chorney.

During the second period Wayway’s Nolan Grier scored putting Wayway on the board to head into the third period 2-1 in favour of the Caps.

In the third, Nolan Grier scored his second of the night on a powerplay tying up the game 2-2 sending the game into overtime.

No goals were scored during the 5-minute overtime which sent the game into a shootout.

During the shootout Wayway’s Nolan Grier and Andrew Boucher were both denied by goaltender Eric Reid.
Virden’s Nicholas Guberman and Nolan Chastko both scored in the shootout for the Oil Caps to take the Win 3-2!

Oct. 26th, Winkler, MB – After their win Tuesday night the Oil Caps travelled to Winkler Wednesday to play against the Flyers. Unfortunately for the Caps the Flyers walked away with the win 5-4 after a hard fought, back and forth game.

During the first period, the Flyers took the lead with Trent Penner scoring on a powerplay at 12:04. However, Oil Caps Parker Konneke scored just over 3 minutes later tying the game up 1-1. Assists from Wilson and Renville.
With 7 seconds left in the first, Davis Chorney furthered the score for the Oil Caps on a powerplay for his 8th of season with assists from D. Bielik and J. Bielik ending the period up by 1.

The second started with a short-handed goal from Winklers Jayce Legaarden once again tying the game up.
The game wasn’t tied long with Oil Caps Nolan Chastko scoring his 7th of season a short minute later on a man advantage. Chastko with assists from J. Bielik and Gorchynski. With just 57 seconds left in the frame Joey Bielik scored the Oil Caps 4th goal of the night assisted by Chastko and Chorney ending the period 4-2 in favour of the Caps.

In the final period the Oil Caps saw no goals while the Flyers put up 3 taking the lead and the win.
