Nov. 12th – Credit Union Place, Dauphin, MB – The Virden Oil Capitals travelled to Dauphin Saturday to play the Kings.
The first consisted of 1 goal at 11:34 by Oil Caps defenceman Trevor Hunt, assists from Nolan Chastko and Joey Bielik. 1-0 for the Caps as they headed into the second.
The second had no goals.
During the third Dauphins Blake Boudreau scored at 5:35 tying up the game 1-1 and putting the Kings on the board. The tie was only held for a short 5 minutes as Oil Caps Captain Brody Wilson scored his 4th of the season with assists from Andrew Blocker and Trevor Hunt.
Shortly after, Dauphins Blake Boudreau scored his second of the night to tie the game up once again, however at 15:16 Trevor Hunt scored the Oil Caps 3rd goal of the night unassisted, putting the Caps back in the lead.
A short minute later Andrew Blocker furthered the Oil Caps lead for his 4th of the season. Assists from Wilson and C. Miller.
That wasn’t all for the final period though.
With 9 seconds left Colten Miller scored his 5th of the season assisted from Blocker and Wallace ending the game 5-2 in favour of the Caps!
Oil Caps goaltender Eric Reid stopped 28 pucks on net for the win!
Oil Caps next home action is Friday, Nov. 18th, 7:30pm puck drop at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.
Fridays game is also Ride Inside- CancerCare Manitoba night as well! The Oil Caps have once again teamed up with the Virden Junior Oil Capitals U11 teams to raise money to be donated to CancerCare Manitoba! The U11 teams will ride stationary bikes during the whole duration of Fridays game; 6:30pm to roughly 9:30pm.
