Dalke “Steels” the Show

October 17

Virden, MB – Ben Dalke potted a pair of beautiful goals and several Oil Caps had multi-point nights in a 6-3 win over Selkirk on home ice Saturday night.

In their first home game in close to a month, Dalke welcomed the fans back to Tundra Oil & Gas Place with a spectacular penalty shot goal midway through the first.

The deke from Dalke, could go down as the goal of the season!

Less than a minute later Torrin Grange jammed home his 1st of the season on a scramble in front of the Steelers goal.

Jake Dudar would go coast to coast early in the 2nd and score a beauty of his own for his 4th tally of the season. That gave the Caps a 3-0 lead.

Before the period ended, Nolan Ross and Victor Knaub (PP) exchanged goals giving the Oil Caps a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Steelers showed some life in the 3rd scoring the first goal of the frame but Dalke would put the game away just minutes later.

On a carbon copy play that lead to his penalty shot in the 1st, Dalke broke past the Steelers d-man and scored a beautiful backhand goal to top off the night.

The Steelers would get one more before Tanner Lewis sealed the deal late in the game to wrap up the victory.

Devan Schram had 3 assists on the night, while Torrin Grange had a goal and 2 assists. Nolan Ross and Cole Oliver also picked up a  pair of points on the night.

Sean Kuehn made 31 saves for the win.

The Oil Caps welcome the Steinbach Pistons on Sunday. Game time is 4:30.
