DeGraves Shuts Out Oil Caps

January 12

Virden, MB – It was a tough night to be a goal scorer on Tuesday at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.

The Swan Valley Stampeders got the lone goal from Josh Tripp in the first period and 26 saves from Zach DeGraves on route to a 1-0 road victory.

Sean Kuehn put forth a similar effort in the Caps net, turning aside 22 shots in the loss.

The Stampeders, who have been playing well as of late continue to climb up the MJHL standings winning their 4th in a row. They now sit 7 points back of the Winnipeg Blues for 5th in the MJHL standings.

The Caps drop an all important game at home as they get set to embark on 5 straight on the road.

Luckily, for any scoreboard watchers out there… Good news!! The Winkler Flyers fell 2-1 to the Portage Terriers tonight keeping the point spread between the two clubs at five points.

The Caps will look to regroup before heading to Steinbach on Friday and finishing the weekend in Winkler on Saturday night.
