Manitoba Sports Network named new official radio partner of the Oil Capitals

The Virden Oil Capitals have joined forces with the Manitoba Sports Network to be its new radio partner for this season.

The online digital platform will broadcast all 29 home games for the club, beginning with the Oil Capitals’ home opener on Sept. 22 against the Dauphin Kings.

The digital media platform, led by founder Glen Munford, dedicates itself to broadcasting amateur sport in the province and is a division of KBM Digital Media, based out of Morris, Man.

There will be no online subscription to listen to the Oil Capitals games as revenue for MSN is generated via advertising – sold by regional sales managers – which will be aired during the broadcasts.

The Manitoba Sports Network – otherwise known as MSN – has broadcasted a plethora of hockey games since it launched including the Telus Cup AAA midget west regional hockey championship earlier this year.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with MSN this year,” said Jamie Hodson, Director of Business and Hockey Operations for the Oil Capitals. “We believe MSN will provide a great online radio broadcast for our fans and partners.”

Munford says he’s excited to work with the Oil Capitals and more importantly, he’s looking forward to continuing to promote amateur athletes.
