Oil Caps netminder Riley McVeigh was named a runner-up to the Recycle Everywhere MJHL player of the week award.
McVeigh made 34 stops in a 3-2 OT win over the Flyers in Game 1 of the MJHL semifinal series against Winkler last Friday and then followed that up with a 31 stop performance in the 5-2 Game 2 win on Sunday.
McVeigh joined Steinbach Pistons goaltender Matthew Thiessen as the two runner ups to the award. Levi Cudmore of the Winnipeg Blues wound up winning the award.
Congrats Riley!
