The Virden Oil Capitals have traded 2001 forward Blake Jacques and future considerations to the Winnipeg Blues in exchange for 2003 forward Branden Huminuk from Winnipeg, MB, with future considerations also coming back to the Oil Caps. Huminuk spent the 2018-2019 season with the Winnipeg Thrashers of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League where he scored 8 times and added 11 assists in 46 regular season games and had 1 assist in 4 playoff games.
“We are real excited to add a player of Branden’s calibre to our hockey club. He is a skilled forward who competes hard at both ends of the rink and has an ability to be a threat offensively. We look forward to getting him to camp and watching how he fits into our already strong 2003 group”, said Oil Caps GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey.
Huminuk is excited about coming to the Oil Caps.
