Oil Caps Secure a Big Win vs the First Place Pistons

The Oil Caps win a big game vs the first place Pistons! The game started with an early power play goal by Virden to put then up 1-0. Steinbach tied the game just over 3 minutes later. The second period was busy with an early Oil Caps goal giving them back the lead with a 2-1 score. About halfway through the period Virden scored 2 quick power play goals to give them the 4-1 lead. After a penalty filled second and third period the final score ended up staying at 4-1 for the Oil Capitals.

The first period saw Hunter Cloutier scored his nineteenth on the power play at 4:06 to give the Oil Caps the 1-0 lead. Then at 7:48 the Pistons Ty Naaykens scored his thirteenth to tie the game at 1-1 before heading to the second period.

The second period saw Virden’s Josh Belcher scored his thirteenth at 2:12 to give the Oil Caps the 2-1 lead. At 9:30 Virden’s Hunter Cloutier scored his second of the game again on the power play to give the Oil Caps the 3-1 lead. Shortly after at 12:04 Hunter Cloutier gets his hat trick once again on the power play to give the Oil Capitals the 4-1 lead. The rest of the second and third period saw many fights and penalties but ultimately the final score saw the Oil Capitals take the game with a final score of 4-1.
