OIL CAPS SNAGGED THE OT WIN

Braden Fischer scored the game winning goal at 1:43 to lift the Oil Caps victory over the Neepawa Titans in a back and forth, action filled game. This being game one of the four game series with the Titans the game came to an exciting end of 5-4 for Virden.

In the first period, Dylan Halliday opened up the scoring at 14:48 with the assists going to Braden Fischer and Jack Oleksiuk.

Neepawa came back towards the end of the first with Rylan Gudnason putting the Titans on the board.

During the second period Neepawa hammered in 2 more goals putting the Titans up by 2.

Tyler Thoendel scored shortly after with an assist from Carson Buydens ending the second frame 3-2 Neepawa.

The third period got underway with Joey Bielik scoring his first MJHL goal at 3:51. Neepawa gave themselves a late lead with a goal with 43 seconds left.

The Oil Caps now down by 1 and only seconds left in regulations, Dylan Halliday went in for his second goal of the night shortly after the Titans pulled ahead. Halliday scored with 17 seconds left in the third period tying up the game heading into overtime.

Overtime began and the back-and-forth action continued. Both teams fought hard for the win but Oil Caps Braden Fischer assisted from Captain Logan Rands scored with 1:43 into overtime and an Oil Caps win!!
