Park signs with the Virden Oil Capitals

June 23, 2017

Virden, MB – The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce that 1999-born forward McCullough Park, has committed to the club for the 2017-2018 season and beyond.

The 6’1, 170-pound product of Deloraine Manitoba, spent last season with the Southwest Cougars in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

In 41 games, Park scored 17 goals and added 18 assists for 35 points for the Cougars this past season.  McCullough also has an “edge & grittiness” to his game, while amassing 109 penalty minutes through the season.

GM and Head Coach Troy Leslie states “McCullough fit in well with the pace of the game and our team in his appearances as an AP this past season.  We look forward to having him here on a full time basis this coming season.”  Chad Leslie, Director of Player Personnel for the Oil Capitals added: “McCullough will bring an offensive punch to our lineup.  He has the ability to create offence off the rush, but ultimately with his size and skill he has potential to be strong in the corners off the cycle.”

Director of Business and Hockey Operations, Jamie Hodson explains: “Chad and Troy both speak highly of this young man and any time we can add an important piece to our team from a local level in SW Manitoba, is an added bonus for the organization and our fans.  Deloraine has been and continues to be a hockey “hotbed”, and as an organization we look forward to acquiring not only what McCullough brings to the table, but linking into that high hockey acumen from the Deloraine area.”
