Virden, MB – Although the weather may not show it, we are less than 3 weeks away from Christmas!
With that being said, the Oil Caps and Valleyview Coop have once again teamed up for a pair of “Tin for the Bin” nights to gather non-perishable food items for Virden Christmas Cheer!
All non-perishable food items collected at the two home games this week at Tundra Oil & Gas Place will be matched by Valleyview Coop (Cash Value) and donated to Christmas Cheer.
The staff from Valleyview Coop along with your friend Cooper the Bear will be set up on the concourse prior to the game tomorrow night (Tuesday, Dec 8th) vs OCN and Friday December 11th vs Winnipeg to collect the items.
The Christmas Cheer program has been running in the Town of Virden and area for several years. The main goal of the program is to provide families in need with a Christmas hamper filled with food and gift items. Last year 77 hampers were distributed to needy families in our area.
