Kuehn Kicks Aside 34 in Win vs OCN

December 8

Virden, MB – Sean Kuehn had a bounce back performance in net making 34 saves including a number of timely and highlight reel saves on route to the Caps 3-1 win over the OCN Blizzard on Tuesday night.

Virden got on the board early with a pair of quick goals. Tyler Kirkup and Mack Hardy scored just 5 seconds apart to open up a 2-0 lead.

Kyle Bird would add another moments late to open up a 3-0 lead late in the first period.

But the Blizz wouldn’t go away quietly as Jeremy Dumont got them on the board cutting the lead to 2.

That was it for scoring but the fireworks were just being lit.

Colton Spicer and Brady Keeper squared off inside the OCN Blueline and moments later Morgan Magwood and Bryce MacInnis would go toe to toe in a spirited tilt.

The two teams would combine for 66 minutes in penalties in the third period.

Emelim Boily was solid in goal for the Blizzard making 33 saves.

The Caps power play was dormant again tonight going 0/4 including a four minute advantage late in the third period.

The Caps now sit with a record of 19-11 good enough for 38 points in the MJHL Standings.

The Caps will welcome the Winnipeg Blues on Friday night before wrapping the week up in Dauphin on Saturday night.

Game time Friday is 7:30.
