Oil Capitals forward Colten Miller opened the scoring up just over 6 minutes into the game for his 19th of the season with assists from Gorchynski and Reid.

Dauphin responded with a goal of their own from Mathew Gough on a powerplay 5 minutes later tying the game up 1-1.

Before the first period ended, Dauphin gave the puck up, Colten Miller picked it up and he and Roux Bazin took off on a 2-on-1, where Bazin scored his 10th of the season for the Caps to re-take the lead to head into the second.

The second and third periods saw no goals. Both teams had several chances but no one was able to get the puck past either goaltender.
