First Exhibition game under the Oil Capitals belt

The Oil Caps play the Wolverines tonight in their second exhibition game of the season. The game will take place in Ochapowace First Nation at 8:00 PM Manitoba time.  The “rookie” game will have many fresh faces from both teams including several 2003 born players in both lineups.

Meanwhile last night in Portage, the Oil Capitals fell 7-2 in their first exhibition game of the season. The night got off to a rocky start with the Terriers scoring three goals in the 1st and two more in the 2nd. The Caps fought back hard all night long, while having a much younger lineup than their counterparts.

Virdenite, Hunter Andrew and Colin Cook of Brandon netted their first goals of the exhibition season for Virden. Brock Moroz and Ciaran McVicker split goaltending duties for the club.

Head Coach and GM Troy Leslie commented after the game. “Last night was many players first experience in an MJHL pre-season game and was a learning experience for all. I thought our 2003 born players showed very well against on older line up. We had a good start to the game and played well a majority of the 2nd period.”
