Oil Caps fall to Pistons

The Virden Oil Capitals lost 9-0 to the Steinbach Pistons on Friday night in exhibition action.

Drew Worrad had two goals and three assists for the home team, while Austin Heidemann and Vaughn Dupre each had two tallies for the Pistons in the win.

With the loss, the Oil Capitals dropped their pre-season record to 0-1-1.

The Oil Capitals and Pistons will wrap up their home-and-home set at Tundra Oil and Gas Place on Saturday night in what will be Virden’s first home exhibition game of the season.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
