Virden Oil Capitals played back-to-back home games against the OCN Blizzard this past weekend.
Friday, November 12th, 2021
Virden opened the scoring at 6:58 with Evan Groening scoring his 5th goal of the season on a power-play assisted by Tyler Thoendel and Trevor Hunt, however, OCN scored less than a minute later at 7:53 by Riley Zimmerman.
Braden Fischer scored later on in the period giving the Oil Capitals the lead heading into the second 2-1.
No goals were scored during the second period.
Raj Gil scored his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season during the final period. At 12:27 he scored while the Caps were short-handed giving the Blizzard the lead and again at 15:32 ending the game 3-2 for OCN.

After a tough loss in a well-played game Friday night Virden wanted revenge in the second matchup against the OCN Blizzard.
After a slow start to the game Tyler Thoendel scored late in the first period giving the Oil Caps the lead assisted by Bray Rookes and Evan Groening. Tyler with the only goal in the first period and his 7th of the season.
OCN scored early during the second by Riley Zimmerman who tied the game up 1-1.
In the third period Dylan Halliday scored 2 goals. His 11th of the season at 1:48 assisted by Braden Fischer and Tyler Thoendel and his 12th of the season at 12:20 assisted by Braden Fischer.
Virden took the lead, held onto it and ended the game with Carson Buydens scoring Virden’s 4th goal of the game at 18:39.
