The Virden Oil Capitals are gearing up for the 2019-2020 season with the Comfort Inn fall training camp starting Friday, August 30th. We are extremely excited to have our rookie teams named after Oil Capitals alumni Zach Whitecloud, Wyatt Kalynuk, and Tyler Kirkup. The camp begins with registration, skills, and powerskating on Friday. The teams then prepare to play games against each other on Saturday morning, followed up by an information session, goalie session, and more games to end the day. Sunday is more team on team games followed by player meetings, and the “Garry Cup” Intrasquad Game. We are excited to get the season rolling, and we would like to welcome all players attending camp.
The returning players are getting ready for preseason play starting with 3 away games, followed by 3 home games on September 10th, 11th, and 14th. The regular season will kick off this year in Selkirk against the Steelers on September 20th, with the Valleyview Co-op Home Opener, on Saturday September 21st, against the Steelers again.
