OIL CAPITALS WELCOME 2017 6TH ROUND PICK TYLER THOENDEL TO THE HOCKEY CLUB FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON.

The Virden Oil Capitals are extremely proud to announce that Winnipeg Wild forward Tyler Thoendel has committed to the team for next season.
Thoendel was a 6th round pick (60th overall) for the Oil Caps in the 2017 MJHL Bantam Draft. The 5’11” 160 lb forward played his last 2 seasons with the Winnipeg Wild in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League. This past season Thoendel led the Wild in scoring with 29 goals and 35 assists in 42 games. His 64 points also had him tied for 6th in league scoring. Thoendel is a smart, skilled playmaking center who sees the ice very well and makes those around him better. He will be a nice addition to an already deep group of returning forwards.
GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey was very excited to get Thoendel committed to the team for next season, “In Tyler we get a very very smart player who obviously has the ability to put up points. He is a guy that can play in all situations and he is a student of the game. He works hard to improve all aspects of his game and on top of all that he is an outstanding young man with impeccable character. We are very excited that he has chosen to commit to our hockey club.”
When asked about officially joining the Oil Capitals, Thoendel had this to say, “I am very excited to join the Virden Oil Capitals for the 2020-2021 season. I can’t wait to get started and continue my hockey career with this great organization.”
